Back in 3000 BC seaweed was used as a food and medicine by the Emperor of China. In 300BC the Chinese used twelve different types of kelp for food. Prehistoric men used kelp for much of their food. In Japan kelp is loved for its beauty, texture, and for the taste. Kelp has been used in Iceland ever since the Vikings landed there.
