Presentation transcript:

Technology and the UKCS Delivery of PILOT targets depends critically on application of the right technology on the UKCS Many good examples on current projects But need to maximise - introduction of innovative technology to UKCS - implementation of proven technology on UKCS

Innovative technology Expanded activities of ITF – even more focus on the needs of the operators by SMEs Expanded activities of ITF – bring in commercialisation expertise of large service companies Assistance with field trials of new equipment – legitimate Government support for SMEs – possible establishment of field trial fund Possible use of redundant platforms / redundant wells

Proven technology Better understanding of any barriers to the uptake of proven technology Greater use of licence powers – good oilfield practice Better information to operators on the capabilities of new technologies Government support in this area possible e.g. risk-sharing but many uncertainties and difficult to justify
