Project Abstract This project enhances the workflow system that is currently in place at Molded Plastic Ventures (MPV) and also provides a consolidated electronic documentation and records keeping system for the development of tools.

Project Objectives Establish a link between electronic documents and the tooling processes. Compile a database of tools accompanied by the ability to search and report records. Create a program to interact with the database and generate process forms necessary for tool development. Allow history and traceability of documentation for each tool that is built.

Software Components Microsoft Access 2003 –Tool Database Contain detailed record for each trial tool that is in design or being built. Allows queries to be performed to locate specific items. Display reports of Tool Inventory as well as Vendors Microsoft Excel 2003 –Electronic Process Forms All process forms are in Excel worksheets, allowing for simple fill out by software or user. Ten different process forms exist in Excel format, and will be fed tool data by this system.

Software Components Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) –Software Application Establishes a link between Access tool database and process forms that must be generated to build the tool. Once link is established, data flows from Tool Record in Access to all ten Process Documents
