Il faut 6.4 Lesson

Il faut This expression comes from the verb falloir. It is used to express necessity. Can be used with an infinitive or subjunctive (but we are only using it with the infinitive for now :)). You can't use il faut with any other subject pronoun. If you need to specify a person who needs to do something, use an indirect object pronoun and the infinitive.

Examples of Il faut Il faut travailler. Il faut partir. Il faut dormir. Il faut manger. Il faut chanter. Il faut lire.

Examples of Il me faut… Il me faut un stylo. Il me faut un crayon. Il me faut une voiture. Il me faut une maison. Il me faut un papier. Il me faut un sac à dos.

Which one would you use? Il faut or Il me faut? __________ chanter. Il faut chanter. __________ une trousse. Il me faut une trousse. __________ parler. Il faut parler. __________ un livre. Il me faut un livre.
