Keeping the West Midlands moving CENTRO WMPTA What is Centro’s Smartcard Project ? n 3 key elements : –AMS/HOPS –issue 550,000 free concessionary passes –on-bus/metro ETMs n Current status - budget approved to move to tender stage, OJEC PIN notice has been issued and MVA and LogicaCMG appointed to assist Centro develop the project n Delivery of Smartcard included in tender specification for new West Midlands rail franchise

Keeping the West Midlands moving CENTRO WMPTA Key Issues n 550,000 Smartcards to be issued by 31 March 2008 n Collection and verification n Passes initially to be used as ‘flash passes’

Keeping the West Midlands moving CENTRO WMPTA On-Bus Equipment n Centro will fund all operator ETM replacement n All buses and metro will be fitted by April 2009 n Partnership with operators vital to success

Keeping the West Midlands moving CENTRO WMPTA Future Ticketing n Centro commercial tickets (nNetwork, nBus) to go Smart from April 2009 n Platform available for operators own commercial ticketing
