Market Segmentation Targeting & positioning Market Segmentation: Dividing a market into distinct groups of buyers with different needs, characteristics, or behavior who might require separate products or marketing mixes.

Target market selecting market segments After evaluating different segments, the company must now decide and how many segments to serve. This is the problem target market selection.

Target market A set of buyers sharing common needs or characteristics that the company decides to serve.
