The DARTS database Yoshihiro Ueda (ISAS) on behalf of the PLAIN members
ー ISAS ー PLAIN ー DARTS ー ■ The PLAIN Center (since 1993) = Center for PLAnning and INformation 1. Databases 2. Super Computing 3. Network A small group (1P, 2AP, 2A, 2T, 1PD) DARTS (Data ARchive and Transmission System)
Functions of DARTS ■ Archive and public release of scientific data obtained by the ISAS satellites ASCA, (GINGA), HALCA, Yohkoh, SFU/IRTS, Geotail, Akebono (ex. ASCA: 160 downloads (12 users) per day in 2001) ■ Development of software for supporting data analysis ex. jMAISON ■ Mirror services of oversea database ROSAT All Sky Survey, BeppoSAX, NASA/HEASARC/W3 Browse, CDAWeb
Plan for Astro-E II Data Archive ■ ISAS is responsible for pipeline processing and delivery of products for Asian PIs: ISAS for US PIs: GSFC ■ Tight collaboration with instrument teams and NASA/GSFC calibration, software, and data processing ■ Deliver to PI/Public Release through DARTS via network (or media) ■ Expected data size: several Gbyte per day
DARTS Future Plans ■ Archival and release of data from the ISAS new (and old) missions (GINGA), Astro-F, Astro-E II, Solar-B ■ Fast data transmission (10 Gbps) Super SINET (by National Institute of Informatics) ■ Expansion of Mirror systems of international archive data e.g., Future Gamma-ray missions
Our Goals ■ to be the very core of space science data center in the Asian/Pacific region high quality user service (we need your feedback!) ■ play a role as a “ research" center collaboration with Asian/Pacific scientists using DARTS database (in multi wavelengths)
DARTS Astrophysical Database I. Concept searching system (CGI) control index information by database provide files from the index information II. Examples 1. search by target names (or obs. date / position) 2. select observations and data types 3. download files quick-look images
jMAISON (Java-based Multi-wavelength Astronomical Image Service ON-line) System Optical ImageRadio ImageX-ray Image Make easy comparison of multi-wavelength images from separate remote image servers (FITS/WCS) through the internet Pointing data can be used (cf. Skyview) ASCA, ROSAT, DSS, IRAS, Geenbank, FIRST
Example of display by jMAISON Central Part of the Orion Background: optical Red contour: FIR 12μm Blue contour: FIR 100μm
