Lyddie Katherine Paterson By Deanna Hernandez

Summary Lyddie is about a girl who lives on a farm with her family. However, Lyddie gets sent to work to pay off her families farm. Her uncle came and told her he was selling the farm and as that happen later she got accused of moral turpitude and got fired. As she went back to the farm. She meet Luke Stevens her neighbor who asked for her hand in marriage. She didn’t tell him yes or no but told him that she was heading for collage. She asked her self if Luke would wait for her.

Conflict & Resolution The conflict was when Lyddie’s mother got sent away. And Lyddie got fired from her job. The resolution was when Luke’s family bought the farm for Lyddie. Then Lyddie told Luke that she was going to collage.

Setting On a farm house in the country. Then takes place in Massachusetts, Lowell in a factory.

Theme The theme of this story. Is that you should never give up. That some times you never know what's going to happen so take a chance. And that family is everything.

Foreshadowing One of the foreshadowing's in this story is when Lyddie’s mother go a little crazy. Which leads to her being sent to an institution.

Genre This books is a drama.

Background Katherine Womeldorf Paterson was born in China, She was the daughter of Christian missionaries George and Mary Womeldorf. She live during World War 2. In 1964 she married reverend John Paterson and had four children.

Opinion My opinion on this story is that is a very heartfelt book. I enjoyed reading this book because of how the author wrote everything. I was able to picture every moment.
