What is On Demand Testing? How does it work? What information can you get from the Adaptive and Linear Tests? How can you use the information to create a class profile? How can you use the information to focus your teaching?

What is On Demand Testing?  On Demand Testing is an online resource for teachers to use when, where and how they choose.  Tests are designed to link to curriculum and standards. standards  Both general ability tests and topic-specific assessments are provided.  It is a time-saving tool that can be administered to a single student and/or a whole class.  The On Demand testing program utilises the VCAA Assessment Online software, a decentralised computer-based system where schools download tests from the VCAA central server and distribute them via the school's Local Area Network (LAN).

Benefits  A bank of tests that relate to the Victorian Essential Learning Standards  Once completed, tests are computer marked and a range of reports are available for teachers to immediately view and analyse the results. On Demand tests can be used for:  pre-testing students prior to beginning a topic  applying the same test to post-test a topic of work  testing new intake students or a late arrival  identifying individual student's strengths and weaknesses  confirming teacher judgments  assisting in forward planning of teaching programs.

Adaptive Tests Questions to students vary according to ability Depending on responses the system automatically provides easier or more difficult questions Questions consist of multiple choice (most), answering with keyboard, using mouse to ‘drag and drop’, on screen calculator and locating hot spots General Test 60 questions Single Dimension Test 30 questions : Number, Space, MCD
