VOTING is the most important workplace decision you ever make.

Never forget what they did………… National ACT NZ First United Future Not much fun! The 1990’s

National-led governments…..  Smashed 100 years of workers’ rights.  Tried to wipe out unions.  Increased unemployment.  Froze the minimum wage.  Attacked workers’ holidays.  Privatised ACC.  Slashed welfare by $1.3 billion.  Cut public services.  Brought in the health reforms that contracted out thousands of SFWU jobs. Winston Peters helped by joining National in 1996 and kept workers under the ECA for another 3 years.

21 st Century Labour-led governments have  Ditched the ECA and brought in the ERA.  Introduced paid parental leave – up to 14 weeks by end  Increased holidays to 4 weeks from  Brought in compulsory penal rates for public holidays.  Minimum wage raised 6 times in 6 years.  Rescued ACC from private insurance companies.  Record low unemployment – 3.9%

21 st Century Labour-led governments have  Improved health & safety laws.  Brought in income related rent for state houses and built more than ever.  Increased superannuation and secured it for our future.  Brought in affordable healthcare with PHOs.  Introduced modern apprenticeships and trained 7000 with more to come.  Put millions into low and modest income workers through Working for Families.  Introduced Kiwisaver into 2005 budget and more for home buyers.  Introduced free childcare from 2007.

Who are the parties that have helped deliver this? The Progressives have helped as well.

What did the others do?  NZ First voted against paid parental leave, health & safety improvements, re-nationalising ACC and the ERA and fairer work laws.  United Future and ACT voted against these too.  The Maori Party voted for the ERA amendments, but voted against paid parental leave. They have voted against the government nearly 200 times.

If we give them a chance, National will Totally repeal the 2004 amendments to the Employment Relations Act. Rewrite the ERA and bring back the parts of the ECA they liked best. weaken good faith, get rid of bargaining fees & protections for contract workers. Get rid of union access, PEL, stopworks, and union CEA’s. Get rid of union access, PEL, stopworks, and union CEA’s.

If we give them a chance, National will Rewrite the Holidays Act. Remove relevant daily pay, four weeks leave and time and a half. Make it legal to sack workers within the first 3 months of a new job. Give bosses back the right to control health & safety and take your rights away. Give bosses back the right to control health & safety and take your rights away.

If we give them a chance, National will Give tax cuts to the rich And make huge cuts in health, education and other public services to pay for it.

Our union’s policy : Vote for a Labour-led, Centre-left government for working people. Vote for a Labour-led, Centre-left government for working people.

This means Give your party vote to Labour Give your party vote to Labour If you are not a Labour voter, give your party vote to the Greens. If you are not a Labour voter, give your party vote to the Greens.

Don’t split your vote!! Give two ticks to Labour or the Greens. Don’t vote for any other party because no other party has ruled out working with National.

Two ticks for working families
