David, Bathsheba and the Lingering Effects of Sin A. David took several wives (2 Sam. 2:2) In the spring of the year, the time when kings go out to battle, David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel. And they ravaged the Ammonites and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem. 2 Samuel 11:1

What do we Learn About Sin? 1.Eventually, sin always brings regrets. 2.God’s forgiveness does not void the influence of our sins on other people (e.g., Uriah died). 3.God can forgive sin, but the scars of sin remain (e.g., the sword does not leave David’s house).
