UNIT 4: THE HUMAN BODY 1-. OUTSIDE VIEW SKIN COLOR: It can go from skin color to dark brown, depending on the amount of melanine. FUNCTION: The skin protects the body and it´s normally covered with hair and fuzz. PARTS BIG HEAD AT THE TOP: it contains the brain and it´s covered with hair. The face is in the front side, where the eyes are. We are omnivores so our teeth are prepared to chew any food, and they´re in the mouth. FLEXIBLE TRUNK IN THE MIDDLE: it helps us to twist our waist and to stretch the thorsus and the shoulders. Our position is up straight. LONG AND QUICK LIMBS: the upper limbs are the arms. We have two hands and five fingers in each. Our thumbs are opposable. So that we can hold things. The lower limbs are the legs. We are bipeds because we walk on our two strong legs. Our two feet also have five fingers, they are called toes. WOMEN MEN Women and men have got the same body but different reproductive organs. WOMEN have got breast to feed the new born babies, and their female reproductive organ is composed by one vagina, two ovaries and and the uterus. MEN have got more fuzz along the skin and their male reproductive organ is mainly composed by the penis, two testicles and the urethra.

1-. INSIDE VIEW THE MUSCULAR SYSTEM (600) It moves the body. Muscles can be attached to the bones or by themselves like the heart. There are more than 600 and they help us moving, making gestures, talking, breathing… THE SKELETAL SYSTEM (206) It supports our body. It protects the organs. It moves the body. DIGESTIVE SYSTEM It chews the food. It swallows it. It transforms it. RESPIRATOTY SYSTEM It filters the air. Itbrings oxygen to our whole body. It gets rid of the carbon dioxide. CIRCULATORY SYSTEM Our hearts pumps blood rich in oxygen and substances along the body. It brings the carbon dioxide back to the heart. EXCRETORY SYSTEM It helps us getting rid of waste.
