Digitize Penny-wise An overview of the Newfoundland and Labrador Legislative Library’s frugal digitization project APLIC Conference 2014

A Brief History  Digitization Project began in 2011 Faced difficulties with the initial company responsible for material scanning Scanning was done inconsistently, so PDFs needed to be separated, checked for errors, and many needed to be re-scanned  Queen’s Printer is now scanning additional materials at no cost

Digitization Projects  Hansards  Journals

Hansards  Currently online back to 1980  1970s will be available by the end of 2014  1960s must be re-transcribed, as they were not originally published Hansard staff currently working on this project  will be available as soon as 1960s are complete

Journals  Informal partnership with Memorial University’s Centre for Newfoundland Studies to complete the digitization of historic Journals MUN “responsible” for  We have digitized Not yet available to the public  Still to complete:
