The Our Father Livia Treanor

Our Father The purpose of this is to open and address ourheavenly father and this connects Christians tohim in the world today.

Who Art In Heaven This means he is the creator ofour world and he is art up inheaven this connects Christianstoday by talking about him asour creator and father.

Hallowed Be Your Name This means that his name is sacred and in this prayer it means that Christians are hoping that his name is being treated sacredly.

Your Kingdom Come This could have two meanings. The first is that his kingdom is up in heaven and eventually the Christian that's saying this prayer will go to heaven. The second is his kingdom Earth, and that the Christian is praying for the world to be like heaven.

Your Will Be Done The meaning of this is literally connecting theChristians to him by doing his will and followingthe commandments and they’re praying thatothers are too.

On Earth As It In Heaven This means that Christians arepraying for his will to be donelike it is in heaven.

Give Us Our Daily Bread The meaning of this is praying for food and thanking God for it.

And Forgive Us Our Trespasses This is Christians praying for not only themselves but also others sins.

And We Forgive Those Who Trespass Against Us This means that Christians are forgiving thepeople who are sinning and putting a bad nametowards humans and they hope that God willforgive them as we forgive the others who aresinning.

And Lead Us Not Into Temptation They’re praying and asking Godto protect us from sins. (Adam and Eve)

But Deliver US From Evil This means that they’re praying for us to not be put near the devil tempting us and trying to make us sin.

Amen This is the closing of the prayer.
