Alan Redpath When we have finished our praying we can scarcely bring ourselves to believe that our feeble words can have been heard, or that they can have made a difference in the things concerning which we have been praying. We’ve said our prayers but we have not prayed.

Luke 11:1-4 (1) “Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord teach us to pray; as John also taught his disciples.’(2) So He said to them, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Luke 11:1-4 (3) Give us day by day our daily bread. (4) And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.”

Elmer Towns “The effective prayer is not measured by how loud you pray, or how long you pray, or even if you say the words of the Lord’s Prayer again and again in a repetitious fashion. Your prayer life will be effective it you are sincere (your approach) and if you ask for the right things (what you say).”

Prayer 1.Praying on the Basis of a New Relationship – “Our Father in Heaven.” 2.Praying on the Basis of a New Respect – “Hallowed be Your Name.” 3.Praying on the Basis of a New Priority – “Your Kingdom Come.” 4.Praying on the Basis of a New Submission – “ Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.”

Prayer 5.Praying on the Basis of a New Dependence – “Give us day by day our daily bread.” 6.Praying on the Basis of God’s Pardon – “Forgive us our sins.” 7.Praying on the Basis of God’s Protection – “And do not lead us into temptation.”

Blueprint for Prayer Focus on what it means to talk to the God of the universe as your Father – “Our Father in Heaven.” Then Pray about: –His Priorities – “Your kingdom come.” –His Purposes – “Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.” –His Provision – “Give day by day our daily bread.” –His Pardon – “Forgive us our sins, for we forgive everyone who is indebted to us.” –His Protection – “Do not lead us into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
