Camp Management Background of CM Project Started in Sierra Leone in late 2002 (as a working group first) Response to inadequate quality of protection and assistance particularly in IDP camps Many camps were poorly managed by organisations with little funding and low expertise Documented cases of humanitarian aid workers sexually abusing and coercing people in the camps

Camp Management Background of CM Project In 2003, an Inter-agency Toolkit Editorial Group was established Producing the second edition of the Camp Management Toolkit in 2004 Since then, the CM Toolkit has been ordered/downloaded by over hundred organisations and used in more than a dozen of conflict or natural disaster situations
