USING MICROSOFT PHOTO STORY

What is Photo Story?  It’s more than a slideshow. It’s a video story.  You can create presentations with:  Special effects like panning and zooming  Sound  Narration in your own voice

Create your digital story  Select the pictures that best illustrate your story  Import and arrange your photos and pictures  Edit, rotate, crop, auto-fix and add special effects  Add titles, captions or other text  Record your own voiceover  Customize motion and transitions  Save your movie, post it, play it or it.

Click “Begin a New Story” Open Photo Story

1. Click “Import and Arrange Your Pictures.” 2. Browse to your network folder, thumb drive or place you have stored your pictures 3. Select several pictures by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking on each one Select your pictures

1. Rearrange pictures by dragging and dropping 2. Add more pictures by clicking “Import Pictures” 3. Edit pictures using the image editing tools Import and arrange your photos and pictures Rearrange pictures in the Photo Story timeline Editing tools Get more pictures

Select an effect to apply to your picture or to all pictures Use the tabs at the top to refine the basic editing you have done Add effects Tabs for picture editing Move to next or previous picture Select and preview the effect you want Reset it if you need to

1. From the “Import and arrange your pictures” screen, click “Next” 2. Type your title and edit the fonts and effects 3. Click “Next” to go to the next step Add titles, captions or other text Click to move from step to step Change picture effects here if you like

1. Click the picture you want to narrate 2. Type notes to yourself in the text box 3. Use the sound buttons to record, stop and remove the voice. Narrate your story with a voiceover Select the picture Type your notes Recording tools Preview your narration

Select music from a source or create your own music. Be sure to follow copyright laws. Adding Music

Decide what type of music best fits with your story.

1. Click the “Customize Motion” button 2. Select and preview the motions and transitions you want. 3. Click “Save” Customize motion and transitions Click here to customize Motion, duration and transition tabs Preview

1. When you get to the end of your project, click “Save your story” 2. Save the options you need for your presentation 3. Finish it and view it Save your story

Tips  Save early, save often!  Select the picture you want to modify before adding effects.  Add music if your teacher allows it.  Use the arrow buttons to move from picture to picture.  Use the “Back” and “Next” buttons to move to different editing steps.
