KNOW AND CAN ASSOCIATION SOFIA BULGARIA

MAIN OBJECTIVES KNOW AND CAN Association is nongovernmental organization set up in March 2007 in Sofia. Its main goals are: to develop and apply specialized programs for children’s, youths’ and adults’ development of abilities and intellect by the methods of non-formal education;

MAIN OBJECTIVES to stimulate participation in national and international events and projects to guarantee support to all the creative people with knowledge and abilities all over the world

ACTIVITIES Some of the activities of the Association are: working out as well as governing own projects and programs; participating in national and international projects, events and programs;

ACTIVITIES organizing and participating in regional, national and international events with educational character; organizing and participating in working seminars, workshops, discussions and other forms of exchange of good practices and ideas in non-formal education;

TRAININGS AND COURSES The Association arranges training seminars, courses and programs for youths and adults on different modules connected to personal and professional development using mainly the methods of non-formal education

ASSOCIATION TEAM KNOW AND CAN team includes people who are specialists in the spheres – education of youths and adults, finances and economics, pedagogies and psychology, human resources and administration and have attended specialized trainings on different courses and programs in Bulgaria and abroad

ASSOCIATION TEAM The members of the staff have attended trainings connected with leadership skills and debating, civil education, socio-psychological trainings, developing intellectual programs and others connected to non-formal education and trainings.

PROJECTS Know and Can Clubs - the program of the project aimed at increasing students’ interests and motivation to the educational process and stimulate their personal capacity and virtues for successful choice of future realization and active civil position

PROJECTS Bulgarian youths – the new European leaders – the project aimed at training young people in respect to work out projects on European programs, debating, conflicts and conflicts decisions, developing creative and intellectual potential, improving personal qualities

PROJECTS They are personalities, too – aimed at increasing the level of information of students and enriching their knowledge on the themes of psychoactive substances and HIV, as well as building up skills in young people for health protection and prevention of risky behaviour.

PROJECTS Tourism – new knowledge and practice The project aimed at answering the need of improving the professional skills of people who intend to find their future realization in the sphere of tourism Participants in the training had the opportunity to improve their knowledge and professional skills by having practice in Italy

PROJECTS Intercultural salad - the project aimed at presenting and sharing similarities and differences between cultural, historic and religious traditions and habits of 4 countries with different official religions – Poland, Turkey, Bulgaria and Spain, and to show similarities in differences.

PROJECTS Action for Wide Awareness Rising in Europe - the project aims at establishing a Multi-actor European Network initially involving youths and organizations from six EU Member countries. The project promotes initiatives focusing on achieving universal primary education - the second objective of the Millennium Development Goals
