Our Classroom

 Everyone’s been trained. We want to keep you safe.  There is strength in numbers  If a bully is trying to be popular, then having most of the class say, “I don’t like what you’re doing” will stop them from achieving their goal.  It is difficult for the bully to target a victim if we stick together and no one is left out.

 It’s not tattling:  When you help someone who is in danger, who is being hurt physically or emotionality, by speaking out.  The goal is to get help; not to get someone in trouble.

 Jimmy took my place in line, Mrs. Torres. Make him move.  Susie is calling me “four eyes” again, Mrs. Torres. I need help.

TellingTattling  Important  Harmful or dangerous physically or psychologically  Need help from an adult to solve the problem  Purpose is to keep yourself or someone else safe  Behavior is purposeful  Unimportant  Harmless  Can handle it by yourself  Purpose is to get someone in trouble  Behavior may be accidental

 We will not bully others.  We will help others who are being bullied by speaking out and by getting adult help.  We will use extra effort to include all students in activities at our school  GOAL:  For everyone to be physically and emotionally safe
