George Washington Carver is famous for his inventions as well as his perseverance to overcome discrimination.

EQ: Who was George Washington Carver? A week after his birth, George was kidnapped along with his sister and mother from the Carver farm by raiders from the neighboring state of Arkansas. Carver almost died. He was found by Moses Carver and returned to Missouri.

EQ: Who was George Washington Carver? Carver saw that poor black farmers were unable to reuse soil to plant crops. This was causing them to lose money. Carver helped them fix the soil by planting different crops.

Carver went to Alabama to teach poor farmers.
