What are the components of an abusive relationship? Do this now. Pick up your materials on the front desk. Homework: Complete the Circle of violence wheel. What are we doing today? 1. Look at a few stats on dating violence. 2. Explore the wheel of dating violence 3. Read a play and decipher what violent behaviors are being used.

Dating Violence 1 out of every 4 women will experience abuse in a dating relationship 1 in 3 teenagers report knowing a friend or peer who has been hit, punched, kicked, slapped, choked or physically hurt by his or her partner. 1 in 4 teens who have been in a serious relationship say their boyfriend or girlfriend has tried to prevent them from spending time with friends or family; the same number have been pressured to only spend time with their partner. 90% of dating violence is reported by females, but males are victims too.
