Mapwing Tutorial By: Jake Quilliams 11/7/10

1. First, Go to this website 2. Start your Virtual Tour here by choosing CREAT A VIRTUAL TOUR

3. Create a new user ID and Password

4. Select NEW BASIC VIRTUAL TOUR

5. Create a Tour title, and then choose NEXT

6. Choose your starting image. I have chosen a map of downtown Macon, GA.

7. On this Screen you will upload your starting image

8. Upload your starting image by selecting ADD CANVAS IMAGE

9. After you have chosen your starting image you will be asked to keep the image as is, or scale to fit the screen? Choose to scale the image.

10. Once your image is uploaded choose NEXT. You will then place a starting point on your map. I have chosen the memorial in front of my apartment, as indicated by the red dot on the map.

11. Then choose any other locations you want to visit on your tour. For my tour I have chosen four locations. Once you have chosen your points of interest click NEXT.

12. Now you can upload the pictures corresponding to the four cardinal directions for each location. Simply choose ADD IMAGE for each direction.

13. Add your pictures for each of your locations by selecting the drop down menu at the bottom right hand corner of your screen. Once you are finished adding all of your images select NEXT.

14. Now select each point on the screen individually, and add any comments to your tour by selecting the ADD COMMENT button for each of the Cardinal Directions.

15. Again select the drop down menu for each location.

16. Now you will connect the different locations on your tour. Select a starting point and an end point first. For my tour I started at the memorial and ended at the school. Make sure you select the ADD CONNECTION button.

17. Next choose your connections by selecting the drop down button and adding the corresponding connections and then selecting the ADD CONNECTION button. The different connections are indicated on the map with red lines. Once you have done this for all of your pictures select NEXT.

18. On this screen you can add any hotspots to your Tour.

19. Simply choose the SELECT HOTSPOT button and choose one of your locations. Then Select the DRAW HOTSPOT button to create a hotspot, drag over the selected picture with your mouse.

20. Next, Select the CONFIGURE HOTSPOT button to add either an image or a website. Then select OK.

21. Once you have chosen your hotspot click NEXT. Here I have chosen a website that links this image to the school’s website.

22. Now choose an initial start point for your tour. Choose your location and image and select SET STARTUP. Once you have selected a startup location again choose NEXT.

23. Preview your tour, then select FINISH to complete the tour. Once the tour has been processed create a description, and select SUBMIT TOUR.

24. Finally, view your finished product.
