The Very First Step Click on the start button on the bottom of the screen Click ‘Programs’ Click ‘Microsoft Power Point’ Windows XP users will find Power Point on the Start menu—no need to click on ‘Programs’
Choosing Slide Layout Windows XP users-skip this step Click on ‘Blank Presentation’ Choose a slide layout by double-clicking the picture that looks the way you want your slide to look Here are some examples: Click to add title Click to add subtitle Click to add title Click to add text Click Click
Adding Text Boxes Click on ‘insert’ Click on ‘text box’ Type the information in your text box
Custom Animation Texts, pictures, and other graphics can be animated, or made to move and make sounds. Click on ‘Slide Show’, then ‘Custom Animation.’ Choose the animation and/or sound you’d like to use. Click ‘preview’ to see what your animation will look like. If it is what you want, click ‘apply’ or ‘ok’ All animation will appear during slide show when you click the mouse unless you go to the ‘timing’ tab and change it.
Changing Slide Design and Layout SLIDE DESIGN Right click the corner of the slide. Click ‘slide design’ Click the design you like. All your slides will have this design. SLIDE LAYOUT Right click the corner of the slide. Click ‘slide layout’ Click the layout you like. This changes how the text, pictures, and graphics are displayed on the slide.
Adding Clipart CLIPART FROM FILES Choose a slide layout that has the option to place a picture on the slide Double-click the picture icon. Double-click on the picture you want to add. CLIPART FROM THE INTERNET Connect to the Internet Find the picture you want. ‘Right click’ the picture, click ‘copy’. Open your Power Point Presentation, by clicking on it’s title on your bottom toolbar. Right click the slide where you want the picture Click ‘Paste’ and resize as desired.
Adding Action Buttons Action buttons allow you to skip slides or connect to particular slides. Make all your slides before you add your action buttons. Click ‘slideshow’ then ‘action buttons’ Use the mouse to draw your button. Click ‘hyperlink to’ then click ‘slide…’ Choose the slide you want the button to take you to, then click ‘OK.’
Viewing Your Slide Show Well, the hard part’s over! Take a look at your handiwork! Click ‘view’ and ‘slide show’ Remember to use you mouse to go to the next slide or to see your animation.
