 Quito, officially San Francisco de Quito, is the capital city of Ecuador in northwestern South America. It is located in northern Ecuador in the Guayllabamba river basin, on the eastern slopes of the Pichincha, an active stratovolcano in the Andes mountains. With an estimated total district population of about 2.1 million people as of 2007, Quito is the second most populous city in Ecuador, after Guayaquil.As the headquarters of the newly-formed Union of South American Nations, Quito is also the de facto capital of South American integration.

 It uses the United State dollar as the primary source of currency. Which makes it easier on the conversion process.

 When in Ecuador we will be mainly working on our Spanish speaking skills.  We will be ordering our food and using verbs such as tener, ir, gusta, and estar.  We will be using a lot of vocab especially words dealing with food, where to go, and directions.  We will also be using transportation vocab such as getting a taxi or taking the bus.
