The Concluding Sentence

It restates the topic sentence Concluding Sentence A concluding sentence is the last sentence in a paragraph. It restates the topic sentence It summarizes the main points of a paragraph, and/or It leave the reader with something to think about in relation to the topic (so what?) It can be used for summary, recommendation, prediction, warning or an opinion.

Summarizing the main points Topic sentence A program to encourage people to use public transport in our city is urgently needed. In summary, this program will definitely encourage people to use public transport in our city in order to solve traffic congestion and constant delays. The concluding sentence summarizes the main points of the paragraph.

The Concluding sentence re-emphasizes ideas in the topic sentence. Throughout the centuries rats have continued to survive despite our efforts to destroy them.
