Grant Writing Workshop 1 1. Disseminate timely information about upcoming funding opportunities 2. Hold monthly Grant Writing Workshops 3. Help in grouping faculty for submitting grant proposals 4. Work with other units to foster interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research programs 5. Help preparing grant proposals 6. Establish and monitor ad-hoc departmental review committees 7. Submit instrumentation and training grants every year

Goals 1. Increase the aggregate departmental funding level 2. Increase the percentage of faculty with funded research 3. Increase the number of Research Assistantships 4. Discuss/submit REU, STEM and MRI proposals a. Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) b. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) c. Major Research Instrumentation (MRI)
