Welcome to The Museum World War II and Denmark

WW II Adolf Hitler and the Nazis control Germany and invade other European countries in In 1941, Pearl Harbor is attacked and the U.S. joins WWII.

Three countries lead the Allied Powers and they were USSR (Russia), United Kingdom, and the United States. The Allied Powers fought against the Axis Powers which included Germany, Italy, and Japan.

The Axis Powers were led by Hitler and the Nazi Party. They targeted Jewish people, other minorities and people with physical and mental disabilities. Jewish people and others are taken to concentration camps. This is called the Holocaust.

Denmark and Occupation Denmark is invaded by the Nazis in 1940 by land, sea, and air. Before this, in Denmark, people are free to practice their own religion. Many Jewish people have lived in Denmark for a long time. Jewish and non-Jewish people are friends.

In 1943, The Germans decide they want to take all the Jews in Denmark and put them in camps, as they have done with Jews in other places. Upon occupation, Danes organized a resistance movement to fight the Germans.
