Coordinating Conjunctions There are seven coordinating conjunctions: F-- For - same as because, shows cause A--And - add more information N--Nor –choice (neither, nor) B--But---shows exception, opposite O--Or----choice (either, or) Y--Yet ---same as but S--So-----shows the effect/what result

Coordinating Conjunctions Coordinating conjunctions connect words, phrases, and clauses.  I hate to waste a single drop of beef stew, for it is expensive and time-consuming to make.  Rocky refuses to eat dry cat food, nor will he touch a saucer of beef stew.  Rocky terrorizes the poodles next door yet adores the German shepherd across the street.
