Leviticus 29:30  The tithe is the Lord’s.  The tithe is holy. For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy…. Romans 11:16

Blessing/Power #5 Redeems our Finances Principle of Firstfruit …firstborn, both of man and of beast: it is mine. Exodus 13:2 The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD…. Exodus 23:19a.  Clean firstborn had to be sacrificed, unclean firstborn had to be redeemed.  First portion is the redemptive portion. Given to God, it redeems the rest.

Blessing/Power #6 Delightsome Land—Testimony to Others And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts. Malachi 3:12 Church goes from 50¢ a year to $5,000.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Matthew 23:23

The First Response to Holy Spirit Was Generosity. And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. Acts 4:31–33

The First Response to Holy Spirit Was Generosity. Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need. Acts 4:34, 35

Blessing/Power #9 Giving and Revival Travel Together. Great power and great grace was upon them all. It’s not possible to walk in the Spirit, minister in the Spirit, and ignore the Spirit when it comes to tithing and giving.

Blessing/Power #10 Stewardship Reveals the Heart. God protects His infant church. God’s people do not have a good tract record: First murder was over an offering (Cain). First sin in Promised Land was over withheld tithe (Achan). First Apostle to fall was about money (Judas). First sin in church was about money (Ananias and Sapphira). Acts 5:1–11

Blessing/Power #10 Stewardship Reveals the Heart. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:10 The “power” of money is different from the power of “loving” money. There is no limit to the human mind’s ability to rationalize.

Blessing/Power #11 Our Giving Is Eternal. Our giving ascends up to Heaven just like our prayers. …Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God. Acts 10:31 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven…. Matthew 6:20a. We tithe to Jesus. And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them…. Hebrews 7:8a.
