Dressing for Success Francis Scott Key is committed to establishing a safe environment where our focus is on academics. It is the intent of the school program that students be dressed and groomed in an appropriate manner that will not interfere with or detract from, the educational process.

Why wear uniforms…..  Creates a sense of unity  Reduces peer pressure among students  Promotes a single standard of dress  Helps to boost academic performance  Builds a sense of community, pride and promotes school spirit.  Students in unified dress are more confident, positive and focused on success  Students no longer focus on expensive name brands or fashions.  The school environment becomes less competitive. Every one fits in!

Boys Uniforms Bottoms: Navy uniform pants or shorts are permitted. Tops: White or Light Blue solid color collared or “polo type” golf shirt. Shirt tails must be tucked in. Belt: Navy Blue or Black. Socks: White, Navy Blue or Black Shoes: Closed toe and solid Dark Blue or Black in color. Sneakers: Solid Black

Girls Uniforms Bottoms: Navy blue skirt, shorts, skorts, capris or pants (skirts and skorts must be fingertip length). Navy jumpers must have a collared shirt underneath. Solid colored dresses are not permissible. Tops: White or Light Blue collared, “polo type” golf shirt or Peter Pan blouse. Shirt tails should be tucked in at all times. Students must wear belts if bottom has belt hoops. Socks/Tights: Navy Blue or White Shoes: Closed toe and solid Dark Blue or Black. No high heels, sandals or platform shoes. Sneakers: Solid Black

Compliance All students are expected to be in compliance with the “Dress for Success” uniform policy within the first 10 calendar days of enrollment. Students who arrive to school without a complete uniform will be issued a violation and given a uniform from the loaner closet and their “trendy” clothes will be kept by the teacher and returned at the end of the day.
