Match Considerations 4 th year Away (audition electives) especially for surgical specialties or for geographic reasons One or two months off for interviews Taking electives in specialty area (e.g. anesthesiology, dermatology, emergency medicine, radiology, etc.) Taking Step 2 CK and/or Step 2 CS early Taking electives/selectives to get additional letters of recommendation (LORs)
