That New Orleans was a significant victory over a larger British force. A move to have New England secede from the United States and make a peace treaty with Britain. New England Federalists. The Federalists were humiliated and lost much of their power in the U.S. government. Nothing, it really just ended the war. It did not solve the problems that were the cause of the war. Nothing, except that the new nation knew that it could now defend itself from a foreign threat. 3
