Partnership with CHF : $ 11,904,280 requested No funding for screenings Transitional programs (funded for first year of reapplication): Adult Exercise, Parents as Teachers (including PAT Nutrition & Fitness), Community Gardens, Chronic Disease Management

Reapplication—Year One to March 2015 Request is fully funded at $4,148,061 (with one exception) and CHF has identified additional programs that will be funded only this year Program exception is playgrounds - centers can apply in October 2014 Additional Transitional Programs are: Youth Sports, Summer Food Program & Health Coverage

Reapplication-Year Two Funded at $2,379,414 Year Two will include funding for: Nutrition Education – Cooking Matters, Exploring Food Together, Food Friends/Mighty Moves, Eating Smart/Being Active, Salsa Sabor y Salud CATCH Kids’ Club and CATCH ECE Parent Engagement

Feedback on Reapplication Reapplication has moved through CHF’s committee review and to the full board February 4 th. Feedback to date includes:  CHF Healthy Living Committee “loves the FRCs”  FRCA’s collaboration with OMNI for evaluation is “a model we wish other grantees could use”

Health Coverage Changes TCHF is working on programs “refreshing” including Health Coverage Will fund Health Coverage through community-based initiatives Individual Centers can apply for HC grants in association with community partnerships TCHF is “committed to continuing to work with FRC’s”

Rationale for Additional Program Changes Youth Sports – TCHF has traditionally not funded sports because the programs tend to draw kids who are more athletic. TCHF is focusing on funding programs with a curriculum (CATCH) Summer Food Program - Not type of program TCHF wants to support, concerns about nutritional value of food

Cooking Matters’ new priority audience is parents of preschoolers FRCA’s target for is 55% of adults served Stipends will continue to be available for up to three courses per year Stipend amounts will be adjusted to reflect the priority audience ($800 for courses for parent of preschoolers) Cooking Matters Changes

Preparation for FRCA will provide a three week window to adjust your projections based on training and grant dates As we have done in the past, we will work with you to revise budgets if your outcomes were lower than expected this year

 FRCA is eligible to reapply in two years  TCHF asks that each center’s request be less than 15% of total operating budget  FRCA will provide technical assistance over the next two years to assist centers with raising revenue and/or planning for less TCHF funding. FRCA Future Applications

Steps to Prepare for Future Applications Identify community partners who are also providing CHP+/Medicaid enrollment. Start talking to them about collaboration and integration Begin collaborating with LiveWell (livewellcolorado.org)
