Sept. 14 – 17, Sucker Rod Pumping Workshop4 General Chairman Brent Thomas Brent focuses in low volume lift methods, primarily rod pumping and plunger lift with quite a bit of experience in capillary tubing. Operations and workover and recompletion duties are other areas that he has performed. The importance of Gas Well Deliquification and the value of mature oil and gas well properties and the inherent problems associated with their operation has been a big part of his career. Brent also has considerable experience in horizontal well development in fields such as the Barnett and fields requiring hydraulic fracturing. Well failure analysis and improvement recommendations are also areas of interest. Heavy oil and steam flood projects comprise a big part of his current activities. Brent has been a session chair at both the Gas Well Deliquification workshops and the Sucker Rod workshop in the past and provides internal training on rod pumping, plunger lift and corrosion surveillance within Chevron.

Sept. 14 – 17, Sucker Rod Pumping Workshop5 Keynote Speaker Denny Bullard Denny Bullard is Vice President of Operations Services with Pioneer Natural Resources. He is responsible for the corporate engineering groups overseeing drilling and completion activities, facilities design, gas processing, and utilities. He is also responsible for health, safety and environmental services, operational training and procurement. From December 2005 through October 2007, he served as Vice president of Engineering and Development and from October 2004 until November 2005 as Vice President, Gulf Coast Operations. From 1997 to 2004 he was the Operations Manager for Pioneer’s Gulf Coast Operations. Bullard has a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University. He serves on the Texas Tech University Industry Advisory Board for Petroleum Engineering and is Chairman of the Texas Tech University Academy of Petroleum Engineers.
