5 Simple Steps Gather all relevant papers and read them Make notes as you read the papers Develop a point of view as you research your topic Make an outline What is the big picture? How does your part fit in? Make a logical story The figures and tables together with the legends should tell the story The figures should be original and fully annotated Make the paper self-contained Introduction and conclusion are important Introduction and conclusion should mutually reinforce each other Cite references for each assertion Make references complete Use web references only if there is no paper
