POLITEIA PROJECT

TEACHING METHODS AND TESTING

STUDENT’S PRESENTATIONS

In my class we discussed the 8 topics and we decided that: we sometimes do students’ presentations.

TEACHER’S PRESENTATIONS

Theachers’ presentations on blackboards/whiteboards always take place.

TEST

We have about 2 WRITTEN TESTS a week.

My class produces essays less than once a week, we do question-answer tests twice a week, we never do mutiple choice tests. My class has oral testing every day.

GROUP WORKS & PROJECTS

We do group-works less than once a week (some teachers let us get involved in project works for example the English teacher). Apart from European projects, we don’t usually use podcasts, vodcasts and blogs.

STUDYING METHODS MEMORIZATION

4 students say they never do memorization 4 say they do it twice a week 3 say they do it less than once a week 3 say they do it once a week Others 3 say they do it more than three times a week

CLASS DISCUSSIONS

3 teachers let us have class discussions.

INTERDISCIPLINARY WORKS

All teachers do interdisciplinary work every day.

EXCURSIONS

All classes go on excursions once every two/three months.

EXTERNAL LECTURES

2/3 teachers sometimes bring external lecturers into our class.

EXPERIMENTAL WORK

We go to labs with the English, Science, Maths and Phisycs teachers.

WHICH TEACHING METHODS DO YOU LEARN THE MOST FROM?

My class thinks we learn the most from: watching videos, using the blackboard/whiteboard and LIM, memorizing, technology-based works, students’ presentations, group works and class discussion.

WHICH TEACHING METHODS DO YOU ENJOY THE MOST?

My class thinks we enjoy the most from: class discussions, technology based works, experimental works, group works and watching videos.

HO W MUCH INFLUENCE DO YOU HAVE ON THE TOPICS THAT ARE TAUGHT IN CLASS AND THE TEACHING METHODS?

On this answer there were different opinions:1 group thinks we usually have influence on the topics that are taught in class and the teaching methods, 3 groups think we don’t have so much influence, and another group thinks we have a lot of influence.

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT THE WAY TOPICS ARE TAUGHT AT YOUR SCHOOL, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

My class would like to do more experimental works, interactive methods(es. whatching videos or using the Lim), group-works and class discussion.

HOW MUCH INFLUENCE DO YOU HAVE ON TESTING ?(DATES AND FORM OF TESTING)

My class can have influence on testing, concerning the dates of it or the time to do it,but we haven’t any influence on the form of it.

MY SCHOOL DOES A STANDARDIZED TEST ONCE A SCHOOL YEAR.

THIS IS OUR SCHOOL!!!!
