Enhancing Documents with Graphics Graphics are images that enhance a document or publication.  Clip Art, WordArt, Digital Camera, Internet, and Scanned Pictures.  Common Extensions include GIF, JPEG, BMP. Graphics can be:  Inserted into a document such as MS Word.  Moved around the page.  Manipulate the layout and move around or within text.  Resized to become larger or smaller.  Formatted to make the picture brighter or sharper.

Enhancing Documents with Graphics Graphics can be edited by using:  MS Word picture toolbar  Paint program  Specialized software  Paint Shop Pro  Adobe Photoshop These are just a few examples of the many specialized software programs out there that can be purchased or used free of charge to enhance graphics.

Creating One-page Flyers  Word can be used for basic desktop publishing.  Create professional publications such as one-page flyers.  A one page flyer is a document that informs the public about local happenings or events taking place.  One-page flyers can include:  A party announcement/invitation  Upcoming Events  Concert, Yard sale, School play, etc.  Newsletter

One-page Flyers Contain:  Text – Concise and to the point.  Includes subject, date, time, etc.  Graphics – From digital cameras, clip art, Internet, etc.  Pictures from the Internet must contain the URL.  Pictures should be clear and sharp (not blurry).  Color – Includes text, background, and borders.  White space – Equal spacing between text, graphics, etc. Typically everything is centered on one page.  Horizontally (equal white space on left and right)  Vertically (equal white space on top and bottom)
