Windows Movie Maker

What is Movie Maker? Windows Movie Maker allows one to…. create, edit, and share your movies right on your PC.

Create Your Own Slide Show Windows Movie Maker is extremely straightforward— –the steps you should follow are clearly numbered in the “TASK PANE”

Step 1: Import Your Pictures Transfer your still pictures to your Computer (full size image) Then, import them into Windows Movie Maker.

Let’s try it….. Find a picture on the internet Search….. (Google images…full size) Save the picture to “my pictures” Remember…save full size images only…right click and save

To import pictures into Windows Movie Maker: Open Windows Movie Maker. Movie Tasks pane under Capture Video, click Import pictures. Browse to the folder where you keep your photographs. You can select several pictures in a single folder by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking each picture. When you've selected your pictures, click Import. click Import pictures again and repeat the process. Let’s try it together…

Step 2: Add Your Pictures to the Storyboard Drag your pictures from the Collections box into the storyboard at the bottom of the window. you can reorder by dragging and dropping them on the storyboard. Let’s try together…..

Figure 1 shows the storyboard filled with pictures

Step 3: Add Titles and Credits Once you've added all your pictures to the storyboard and put them in the right order, it's time to add a title. Let’s try it together…

Titles and Credits Movie Tasks pane under Edit Movie, click Make titles or credits. You'll be prompted to choose where to add the title and select a style for your title screen. Be creative… explore, and choose a style for the title that sets the mood for your slide show. Let’s try it together….

Step 4: Add Creative Transitions If you were to preview your slide show by clicking the Play button in the preview window it would be boring….. Let’s add transitions….

Transitions Movie tasks pane under Edit Movie, View video transitions. The Collections pane will become the Video Transitions pane. Drag the video transition to the video transition cell between two pictures on the storyboard. Take some time to experiment with them.

Step 5: Adjust the Timeline You'll probably want to make the pictures stay on the screen for more than a couple of seconds,

Timeline 1.Click “Show Timeline” above the storyboard. 2.To make a picture appear on the screen longer, click on the picture and the pointer becomes a red arrow, drag the picture's right border to the right (If the pictures appear too narrow on the timeline, click the button with a magnifying glass and a plus (+) sign a couple of times to zoom in on your pictures)

Step 6: Add Sound click Import audio or music on the Movie Tasks pane under Capture Video Follow the prompts to Add an audio file to your slide show.

Sound

Step 7: Save and Send Your Video Movie Tasks pane under Finish Movie, choose to save the slide show to your computer send it through , send it to the Web, burn it to a recordable CD, or send it to your digital video camera.
