- Computer Addiction provides hours of enjoyment and entertainment individually and with others. Computers and the internet are the main things that some people are obsessed about. Computer addiction is a growing health problem concerning many parents and teachers. - A 2007 Harris Interactive online poll of 1,187 US youths aged 8–18 gathered detailed data on youth opinions about video game play. About 81% of youths stated that they played video games at least once per month. Further, the average play time varied by age and sex, from 8 hours per week (responses from teen girls) to 14 hours per week (responses by teen boys).

- Video game playing introduces children to computer technology. - Games can give practice in following directions. - Some games provide practice in problem solving and logic. - Games can provide practice in use of fine motor and spatial skills. - Games can provide occasions for parent and child to play together. - Players are introduced to information technology. - Some games have therapeutic applications with patients. - Games are entertaining and fun.

- Over-dependence on video games could foster social isolation, as they are often played alone. - Practicing violent acts may contribute more to aggressive behaviour than passive television watching. Studies do find a relationship between violent television watching and behaviour. - Women are often portrayed as weaker characters that are helpless or sexually provocative. - Game environments are often based on plots of violence, aggression and gender bias. - Many games only offer an arena of weapons, killings, kicking, stabbing and shooting. - Playing violent video games may be related to aggressive behaviour (Anderson & Dill, 2000; Gentile, Lynch & Walsh, 2004). Questions have been raised about early exposure to violent video games. - Many games do not offer action that requires independent thought or creativity. - Games can confuse reality and fantasy.

- It's fun - Like to feel in control - Releases tension - Relieves boredom -Develops gaming skills - Feel a sense of mastery

-Violence in computer and video games has been part of the mass media’s attention since the start of the video game industry. Games such as Manhunt and Mortal Combat contain violent gameplay where murder and immoral acts are the primary objectives. Players experience violence through taking on the role of a playable character. A study found that 80% of 33 popular Nintendo and Sega games were violent.

Computer, Xbox 360, PS3,Wii, DS. -What is the reason for the use, development of or change in the information technology system that is causing the concern?
