Summative & Formative Summative Activities are evidence we collect about our students’ skills and knowledge after learning has taken place. Formative Activities are evidence we collect about our students’ progress while learning is taking place. These activities are used to inform instruction throughout the learning process.

Reading, Math and Writing Grading Practices Reading, Math and Writing 75% Summative Activities Summative Activities will be consistent across all grade level teachers Grey scale items in this category are Formative in nature, do not count towards the grade, but are entered to give you feedback regarding progress 25% Classwork/Homework These activities will be selected by the teacher to address the needs of the students in each individual classroom

Assessment Re-take Policy Students will retake Math & ELA Outcome Assessments if their scores are below 80% If below 80%, teacher will reteach necessary skills before the test retake The highest score that can be earned on a retake is 80%.
