Permissions without going through lengthy and cumbersome planning process Decision. Communities decide themselves what is built – type, quantity, design Obligations. Must meet NPPF, EU and Human Rights Rural areas. Expected to be of particular benefit Financial. Increasing development spurs economic growth Slide 5

Provides foundation for community led planning policy including neighbourhood plans Planning policy. Required to be based on clear evidence and needs assessment Neighbourhood Planning. Option, not compulsory. Other routes exist. Qualifying Body. Neighbourhood plans can only be prepared by “qualifying body”, eg Parish Council Slide 6

Employment, residential. Input from Core Strategy Outline specific requirements. Eg, open spaces and community facilities Related policies. Those relating to all development within plan area Timescales. Time to produce estimated to be 1-2 years Costs. Estimated between £17k - £63k, part met by Wiltshire, remainder by Qualifying Body Slide 7
