VoiceThread Presented by: Caitlin Zook Jenny Krauss

What is VoiceThread? O A VoiceThread is a collaborative, multimedia slide show that holds images, documents, and videos and allows people to navigate slides and leave comments in 5 ways. O e__Colors_of_the_Night_from_Mrs_Brosnan/ e__Colors_of_the_Night_from_Mrs_Brosnan/

5 Ways to Comment O Computer microphone O Telephone O Text O Audio file (MP3/WAV) O Webcam

Images, Docs, Videos… O VoiceThread supports PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (including Office 2007 formats), images, and videos.

Doodling O With Doodling, you can draw on top of the media as you record your comment (using mic, webcam, or keyboard). O VoiceThread Doodles are synced to your comment, showing viewers your thoughts in action.

Embedding O With embedding, you can add interactive group discussions to any website. O Simply copy and paste the embed code to your website and let the conversations begin.

Exporting O Exporting allows you to download an archival widescreen movie that is an exact replica of a VoiceThread, including all media, comments, and Doodles. O Exports cost $2.99 each or purchase 10 for $20. VoiceThread Pro accounts include 30 exports with purchase. (File formats: High quality = 720x480.mov, Mobile = 320x240.mp4.)

Moderation O VoiceThread's Comment Moderation allows VoiceThread creators and editors to pick which comments are shown to everyone else.

Identities O One VoiceThread account can have many identities associated with it. O A family, a class, or an interesting person can switch identities on-the- fly without having to sign in with a different account.

Sharing and Groups O VoiceThreads security comes in many forms, from private to public, and anywhere in between. O Simple security settings allow creators to choose what the VoiceThread viewers can do. You can change these settings as often as you like.
