Making A Halloween Display Platform Certain materials are included under the fair use exemption of the U.S. Copyright Law. Materials are included in accordance with the multimedia fair use guidelines. Materials are restricted from further use.

Materials: Styrofoam Cardboard Masking Tape Newspaper Plaster cloth Casting plaster Molds Water Scissors Glue Watercolor Paints Paints for special finishes Materials for Grass, trees, bushes rock debris, flowers ** Diorama kits contain materials, instructions, and molds for rocks and ground cover are available at craft stores

decide on a layout, making sure to allow for the weight and size of buildings you want to use Make a Rough frame using Styrofoam and/or cardboard Build up the shape of your platform with newspaper wads use masking tape to hold the newspaper in place

If desired, pour plaster for features like rocks allow to dry thoroughly apply plaster cloth to form, smoothing out the plaster to fill in the cloth holes as much as possible cover with at least two layers of plaster cloth allow to dry thoroughly

position and Glue plaster features to fully dried platform Using watercolor paints, Paint rocks and earth undercoat Allow paint to dry mask off any painted areas and paint remaining areas with preferred paints Allow to dry

Glue in landscape features AS DESIRED. You can add: Loose rocks Bushes, hedges, flowers, and/or trees Grasses

Allow your finished display to dry completely Add houses, figures, and accessories Stand back and admire
