Unit:3 Outline For this assignment, you will formulate your own project on the theme of Genres. You can select a starting point from this brief, or devise one of your own (with your subject tutor’s approval). You should research your chosen genre, and produce work that explores the boundaries or limitations of that genre. Some Photographers will blur the boundaries of two or more genres.

Resources You will have access to both film SLR and digital cameras, the darkroom, computer software e.g. Adobe Photoshop and studio equipment such as lighting. You can work in either colour or black and white.

There are two main submissions for this assignment: Outcome There are two main submissions for this assignment: Work Journal. Including: Detailed research. You will need to research at least two renowned contemporary (published and of our time) photographers minimum, and include detailed annotations that include an analysis of images used (not simply biographical information), and illustrations. Your ideas, records of how your ideas evolve, and records of material processes (e.g. practice shots, screenshots and test strips). 20 pages of work minimum (worksheets are not included). Mounted sheets Four A2 mounted sheets minimum.
