1 Development of ideas

2 Assignment Using ANY technique you must create a photographic portrait of a single person which … Is more than a simple documentary record of what the person looks like. Is visually interesting or exciting (think carefully about the composition of the image). 3. Your portrait may be designed to evoke an emotional response in the viewer but it does not have to. You can use any light source(s) (flash, daylight or other artificial light source). The image may be in black and white, monochrome or colour. It may be a single image, or made from a collection or montage of images. You may use digital post-production techniques to realise the final print.

3 Now you have investigated portrait photography in different ways, you should now develop your own outcome using these techniques and influences to help you. Create a mind map to help you remember the successful techniques and any photographer influences you might want to use. To gain marks you need to build on what you have already done. Don’t do anything completely new! Demonstrate clearly to the examiner where your ideas have come from.

4 Produce a shoot that explores your ideas for an outcome
Produce a shoot that explores your ideas for an outcome. Print out thumbs, annotate and evaluate. Print out larger versions of the best ones. Then develop these further by producing another shoot. Or You might have a couple of ideas and want to produce a shoot for each idea and use the most successful one as an outcome. You may find it useful to research another portrait photographer to help you develop your ideas. Document this in your sketchbook

5 Think about how you could present your image
Print out your outcome at least A5 size on good quality photo paper to be mounted. Think about how you could present your image
