Some of the things we have heard about today: A range of solutions from very low tech to high tech Service transformation Efficiencies Potential business opportunities Marketing insights Designing technology into existing and new schemes Integrated working with Health

Housing and Assistive technology combined provides a powerful contribution to the support offer for people of all ages, including: Home for life – potential for technology in housing setting to be a real alternative to residential care Help people to remain independent Prevention Personalisation Support for carers Safeguarding Community hubs using technology +

Less money – do things differently. We need to work together to promote: Information and advice about assistive technology Emarketplaces Self care and self management The whole spectrum of technology- from Poundland to Broadband! Integration and partnership working

Working with health partners, we need to develop a more integrated approach, working in partnership to ensure that we maximise the opportunities for people to move into supported housing as well as facilitating speedier discharge from hospital. Assistive technology has a key contribution to make.

CARE ACT housing is an integral part of care and support Draft guidance on integration, co-operation and partnerships, now out for consultation: Talks about: The place of housing An integrated approach Cooperation Information and advice on housing

Housing and housing services can play a significant part in prevention, for example, from a design/physical perspective, accessibility, having adequate heating and lighting, identifying and removing hazards or by identifying a person who needs to be on the housing register. In addition, community equipment, along with telecare, aids and adaptations can support reablement, promote independence contributing to preventing the needs for care and support.
