SERVICES The Office of Instructional Consulting promotes development of quality instruction, high levels of student learning, and instructional innovations in the School of Education. TEACHING CONSULTATION  Identify instructional strengths and areas for improvement  Consulting individually for the purposes of teaching improvement and/or innovation DISTANCE EDUCATION  Develop materials for use in blended and online courses  Evaluate software that may be useful in online environments COURSE DEVELOPMENT  Design and revise courses through planning and materials development CLASSROOM ASSESSMENT  Helping faculty collect fast, useful feedback on student learning and response to instruction CLASSROOM INNOVATIONS  Integrating new instructional strategies and/or instructional technologies into traditional or distance education  Designing, collecting, and interpreting student feedback CUSTOMIZED TRAINING  Providing workshops on topics related to teaching effectiveness and instructional technology  Resources on instructional development and instructional technology  Support for development, teaching, and management of distributed learning courses  Special instructional projects RESOURCES SOFTWARE We offer support of both Mac and PC software. We strive to keep up to date on new and innovative instructional software to be able to recommend software for use in instructional settings. If you have specific questions about a particular software program, we will help you evaluate the software and make recommendations. TECHNOLOGY SANDBOX Want to come and get some hands on experience with the most recent instructional technologies? We have a variety of technologies available to test and evaluate such as, AppleTV, Google glass, SMART boards, mobile tables, response systems and chrome books. This is a great place to test out and see what is being used in many K-12 schools. STUDIO SPACES We offer two high quality studio spaces for audio and video recording. We have a small recording space ideally suited for recording individual podcasts, screen captures or interviews. We also assist faculty with utilizing room 2261, which is a state-of-the-art multimedia studio space available for classroom instruction requiring multimedia presentations, video recording (including green screen recording), video conferencing services and a variety of other configurations. Past uses of the studio include high quality video podcasts, faculty presentation, student multimedia projects and round table workshops. The Office of Instructional Consulting offers a wide range of services for faculty, associate instructors and staff members of the School of Education. Walk-ins are welcome. We would also be happy to schedule a time to meet with you for more individual focus. All client work with IC staff is confidential.
