WaveRider Communications Inc. LMS Backhaul

What is Backhaul High-Capacity Point-to-Point Link from CAP to NAP Enables a Single NAP to Service Multiple CAPs – Allows Broader Service Area – Lowers Deployment Costs Must be 10/100 BaseT compatible, RJ45 connections

Single Nap, Single CAP

Single Nap, Multiple CAPs

Wireless Products Western Multiplex Tsunami Line 5.8 GHz Unlicensed (N.A.) Products 100BaseT Network Interface 45 Mbps full duplex available 100 Mbps full duplex available Independent Wayside T1 Channel Point-to-Point only to GHz and/or to GHz Up to 64 km (40 mile) range

Wireless Products... Western Multiplex Licensed (N.A.) Products –6 & 11 & 23 GHz –100BaseT Network Interface –45 Mbps full duplex available –90 to 180 Mbps full duplex available Q4/00 –Independent Wayside T1 Channel –Point-to-Point only –Up to 64 km (40 mile) range

Wireless Products... WaveRider NCL Unlicensed 2.4 GHz NCL1135 DSSS HDX TDD 11 Mbps over the air 6.7 Mbps user CCK modulation 10BaseT Would use one channel at CAP

Cabled Products T1 - A term for a digital carrier facility used to transmit a DS1 formatted digital signal at Mbps. It is primarily used in the United States & Canada. E1 - A wideband digital interface operating at Mbps, as defined by the ITU recommendations G.703 and G.704. Generally available outside North America. DS-3, the signal in the T-3 carrier, carries a multiple of 28 DS1 signals or 672 DS0s or Mbps E3 - carries 16 E1 signals with a data rate of Mbps

Cabled Products... ATM - form of cell switching intended to carry a variety of data traffic, referred to cell relay or fast packet switching. Runs as a layer on top of SONET as well as on top of other technologies. SONET - Synchronous Optical NETwork. Includes a set of signal rate multiples for transmitting digital signals on optical fiber. The base rate (OC-1) is Mbps. OC-2 runs at twice the base rate, OC-3 at three times the base rate, and so forth. Planned rates include OC-1, OC-3 ( Mbps), OC-12 ( Mpbs), and OC-48 (2.488 Gbps).
