Clark County School District (CCSD) Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) for computers

It is a PRIVILEGE to have such resources available. The computer resources at Chaparral HS are for the support of academic studies. It is a PRIVILEGE to have such resources available. Abuses of these resources by any student will result in an immediate referral to the Dean for RPC (Required Parent Conference), possible loss of all future privileges, or possible legal action.

These are the Rules

DO NOT change any system or network setting that alters the operation or appearance of the computer. DO NOT use the network in any way that would disrupt the use of the network by others.

DO NOT use any software or hardware other than that installed by the lab administrator; This violates copyright laws.

DO NOT tamper with files other than your own. DO NOT look at or use any teacher or other student file.

DO NOT vandalize computer hardware, software, or printers. Vandalism is any attempt to physically deface, disable, or destroy computers, peripherals, or other network hardware or to harm or destroy data of another user connected to the system. This includes the creation or transmission of computer viruses.

DO NOT use any computer classroom unless teacher is present and gives permission.

DO NOT use outside discs or flash drives in the computer lab. Teacher may give you permission.

DO NOT use other IDs or passwords DO NOT use other IDs or passwords. Log in to the network using ONLY your own ID and password. Keep your password private.

DO NOT use the computer for text or graphics not appropriate for school. Polite and appropriate language is expected at all times.

DO NOT cheat; You will not receive credit.

DO NOT “chat” on school computers. Email is not guaranteed to be private. Inappropriate messages result in suspension of privileges.
