To charge the battery:  Plug in the AC adapter to an outlet.  Plug in the other end of the AC adapter cord into the camera right below the battery.  The rubber stopper which reads DC in, will need to be pulled back in order to plug in the cord.  Charge until the battery symbol is all the full on the display screen (which on the left outside panel).  Make sure that the camera is off when charging.

To insert and take out a video tape:  Press the eject button on the bottom of the camera  Insert a Sony MP 120 tape  Push down on the metal casing around the tape and wait for the tape to go back in the camera.  Then close the right panel of the camera.  To take the tape out just press the eject button and remove the tape.

To record Digital Video:  Open the left panel of the camera, by pressing the open button located to the left of the battery to view the video display screen.  Turn the rotating dial to “camera” located on the right panel. (Make sure to press green button on the dial to make the dial change positions.)  Remove the lens cap and use the video display screen to look at watch you are about to record.

To record Digital Video continued:  You can turn the video display screen all the way around by rotating it counter clockwise if you wish to view yourself while recording yourself.  To start and stop recording just press the red dotted button.  When recording the video display screen will read in red REC. If you aren’t recording, it will read STBY.

How to Zoom in and Zoom out & use night vision:  To zoom in slide the zoom button all the way to the right where it reads T. To zoom out slide the zoom button all the way to the left where is reads W.  To use the night vision just slide the night vision button over to the left until it reads on. The button is located on the top panel of the camera. This will make the digital display screen able to view and record digital video in complete darkness.

To play back recorded Video:  Switch the rotating dial to VCR.  Press REW on the Top of the camera.  Then press PLAY to view your video.  To stop the video, press STOP.  To Fast Forward the video press FF.  To Pause the Video, press PAUSE

How to use the TRI-POD  Insert the connector square of the tripod into the holes located on the bottom of the camera.  Then screw on tightly.  Position camera at a slant onto tripod and pull back the lock and release knob.

How to Use TRI-POD continued:  Once you pull back the knob slide the camera into place and push the knob back to its original position.  Now plug the tripod control cord into the camera.

How to use TRI-POD controls:  These controls can be turned on and off using the power button.  The record and zoom button are the same as before you just press them like you would on the camera.

To hook up the camera to the E-MAC computer in 119D:  Locate the audio video cable in the camera bag.  Plug the single cable end into the camera where it says audio/video. This is located on the left panel below the digital display screen. There is a rubber stopper covering all these input holes. You will need to pull the stopper back in order to see these holes.  Plug the other end of the cable (red, white and yellow) into the corresponding holes that are color coordinated for you.

To turn on E-MAC and open iMOVIE:  To turn on E-MAC press the on button on the right side of the monitor  Click on the iMovie icon on the computer screen.  If you have any other questions about the Sony handy cam, refer to the instruction manual in the camera bag.  Refer to other iMovie tutorial to learn how to use iMovie.
